Accident Free Auroville
A community initiative to make Auroville roads safer for cyclists, pedestrians, residents and visitors.
Why This Initiative?
Understanding the unique challenges of mobility within Auroville is the first step toward creating safer roads for everyone.
Mixed Road Use
Our narrow roads are shared by cyclists, pedestrians, scooters, and heavy vehicles, creating dangerous situations daily.
Growing Traffic
With increasing numbers of residents, visitors, and deliveries, traffic volume has outgrown Auroville's original infrastructure.
Infrastructure Strain
The dirt roads and narrow paths were not built to handle the heavy transit and construction traffic we see today.
Need for Community Action
We cannot wait for structural changes alone. Immediate community-driven action and awareness are vital to save lives.
